The test is what?!?

ImageDear baby Desai,

Today, on October 28th, 2012 I took 2 tests that made it very clear I am pregnant. I have to admit, this came as a complete shock because you were not planned for. Your dad and I could not believe what we were seeing because, well, it was an accident of me not getting my timing right. Oops!

Set aside all of the shock, and we were actually really excited. As much as you think you can plan out your life and its big events, you can’t. Things will happen when they happen, and some of the best things in life come when you least expect them to. I didn’t expect to meet the man I would marry at 22 and be married at 24, I didn’t expect to find a job for my niche after only 9 months of being miserably unemployed (it felt like it would never happen!), and I didn’t expect to buy a huge house in my late 20s!

You really have perfect timing, because that huge house we’re moving into in a few months would feel empty without you. 5 bedrooms for 2 people…now we were just asking for too much to have that to ourselves for a few years, weren’t we??

Let me tell you little kiddo of mine…who is about the size of a poppy seed right now, your dad and I think you are a blessing. Regardless of if we were planning for you, we are really happy you are here. It means that even if was accidentally, we did something right.

Of course after finding out we were having a baby…coming to a hospital near you July 2013!, your dad left for Phoenix for a conference and I wish I hadn’t pushed him to go a few days ago! So here I am all by myself about to have to brave out Hurricane Sandy (yes, I said a hurricane in Delaware). But don’t worry I will take good care of you! Before the rain got bad, I ran out for prenatal vitamins and milk!

Dear baby of mine, you are making me feel very tired and you are messing with my appetite. If there’s one thing you will learn, it’s that your mama loves to eat…so I’m not thrilled with this right now. Now to push myself for a bedtime snack so I’m not waking up at 3 am starving! Plus I have to make sure to keep you fed and healthy!

Looking forward to so many things to get used to and a huge change in my life…

Mama Desai ❤ Parul

P.S.In case I forget later, you were conceived on October 14, 2012 and we’re 100% sure about that! (Don’t worry I’ll spare you the details).
